What is a family farmer?

A family farmer is a person or family who owns and/or manages an agricultural business where the family carries the main responsibility and risk. Friends of family farmers can also support Saai as members.

Is Saai politically affiliated?

No. Saai remains independent so it can act in farmers’ interests without political pressure or interference.

How does Saai differ from traditional unions?

Saai is built for fast member communication, coordinated action, and farmer-led governance (with more farmers than specialists on the board). We aim to unite with partners where it benefits farmers, while staying independent.

Saai is primarily funded by member contributions and supporter donations. This protects independence and keeps accountability focused on farmers.
