Saai demands justice following brutal torture of Donovan Marx

November 2, 2026

Saai expresses its gratitude to the farm watches, private security services and police who contributed to the arrest of five suspects linked to the horrific torture of Donovan Marx. Every farming family hopes that justice will be served and that the punishment imposed on the perpetrators will reflect the severity and devastating impact of their atrocities.

Saai believes it is essential that the nature and brutality of Marx’s torture be recognised internationally within the context of the distorted values and breakdown of social order that South Africa has descended into. This includes the denial of farm attacks by the government and certain media organisations; authorities, courts and journalists who endorse and promote the slogan “Kill the farmer, kill the Boer”; and political leaders, including Andile Mngxitama, who openly and without consequence associate murderous violence against farmers with a misguided political agenda, even within Parliament.

The mutilation of yet another farmer, coupled with the enormous pressure that had to be exerted on major local media organisations for days before some of them reported on the incident at all, is, in Saai’s view, ironically further evidence of the political conspiracy for which the South African government is facing scrutiny in the United States and elsewhere around the world. It is particularly concerning that the severity of farm attacks continues to be denied or ignored by significant sections of the media.

Saai will not relent in mobilising pressure through every possible avenue, both locally and internationally, to ensure that farm attacks are declared a priority crime and that an end is brought to the slogan “Kill the farmer, kill the Boer”.
