A senior delegation of Afrikaner leaders held a constructive and high-level meeting today in Washington DC with senior officials from the White House, including representatives from the Office of the Vice President, the National Security Council, and the Homeland Security Council.
During the meeting, the USA officials communicated the Administration’s official position regarding the necessary pre-conditions for the normalisation of bilateral relations between the United States and South Africa. These conditions are as follows:
The Afrikaner delegation – comprising the Leader of the Freedom Front Plus, dr Corné Mulder, the Executive Chairman of the Southern African Agri Initiative (SAAI), dr Theo de Jager, and the Chief Executive of the National Employers’ Association of South Africa (NEASA), mr Gerhard Papenfus – is committed to supporting the normalisation of relations between South Africa and the United States. The delegation now has a clear understanding of the USA Administration’s expectations.
The White House officials expressed concern that these conditions, despite being communicated multiple times to the South African government, have not been adequately addressed. They requested that the Afrikaner delegation convey these conditions clearly to the South African public.
The delegation has undertaken to communicate these pre-conditions to both the South African government and the broader public in the interest of transparency, accountability, and the restoration of strong bilateral ties. (end)
Jointly issued by:
Dr Corné Mulder (VF Plus)
Dr Theo de Jager (SAAI)
Mr Gerhard Papenfus (NEASA)
